I'm back / Junkie XL

I know I am neglecting this blog... but I moved recently and it was very time consuming.  I want to make it up to you with this... mind-blowing track.  I love it so much!

God Module

God Module is a Dark Electronic band from Orlando, Florida. The band is signed to Metropolis Records in the U.S. A mix of Darkwave, Industrial and Techno, and bizarre film samples (somewhat expected in the Darkwave genre). Fast, pulsing and brutal... I hope you like it (because there are plenty more bands like this)!

Ratatat

Ratatat is an electronic music duo with guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast. Stroud and Mast originally met as students at Skidmore College, but did not work together musically until 2001. Ratatat is like a mash up of Electronic Indie Rock and Stoner Psychedelic... with Lo-Fi 8-bit tones. This is really one of the more original sounding bands I have heard in awhile.  You may have heard (and seen) Ratatat in a couple of Kid Cudi tracks, specifically In the Pursuit of Happiness (featured in my 420 playlist) and Alive (embedded below).

420 Trance (err, whatever...?) Playlist

Trance, again, is more of a blanket term. It sounds better than "Xenomusic616 Electronica and Industial and Stuff" haha.  Anyway, on to the music:

A couple of tracks in celebration of this most revered holiday. A couple music videos, and another awesome track!

Ratatat - Drugs:

Watch this video, it means something while you are stoned... It means its friggin' trippy. Like a more listenable Aphex Twin IMO.

Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Happiness (Megaforce Version):

The better music video version of this song, watch it, dig it.

White Ring

White Ring is a dark, trance-inspired duo. Formed in the mid-2000s, White Ring began to become more renowned in 2008. Its like the electronic version of Stoner Metal, with deep, fuzzy distortion and creepy vibes... but awesome nonetheless. Its quite melodic still, so its not as far off as Sunn O))) etc.

NOTE: I am seeing that people are talking about White Ring because of the horrible (IMO) TV show, "Skins", which I want to make clear is not why I posted this at all. I wish life had timestamps, so you could prove that you heard it before something made it popular.

Fear of Tigers

While not exactly Trance as requested, but I have plenty of Electro and Dance to pick from. It might seem cheesy, but if nothing else its nostalgic, much like other Techno / Electro I used to listen to.

I found this group about 2 months ago, probably randomly stumbling through YouTube. "Fear of Tigers is a electronic band from London, United Kingdom formed by producer and tree surgeon Benjamin Berry, who was born in Japan." His debut album "Cossus Snufsigalonica" as a free download! Get it here.

These are from said album, hope (at least some of) you like it!

Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400

Zombie Nation is a German techno and electro project of the Munich based DJ and producer Florian Senfter. Kernkraft 400 was a 1:1 melody copy from the Commodore C64 computer game Lazy Jones. Subtune 21, named "Stardust", was remixed by the German producer team Zombie Nation (initially unlicensed, which caused the producers to pay an undisclosed amount of money to Whittaker) in their song Kernkraft 400.

Kernkraft 400 "Sports Chant" Remix:
By far my favorite version of this song! Teams use it for when they make a goal, the kind of chant if you will. The "whoas" make it so much better for some reason! Reminds me of Pennywise - Bro Hymn (which is also used for hockey games).
